At Mahendra Institute of Management and Technical Studies, eligibility is based on the course. For undergraduate programmes like BBA, B.Com and B.Sc, the candidate must have passed 10+2 with at least 45 percent marks. For postgraduate programmes like MBA, PGDM, M.Com and MA, the candidate must have a bachelor's degree with 50 percent marks. Some PG programmes also consider entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT or CMAT followed by group discussions and interviews. The institute gauges candidate's academic performance, communication skills, and overall personality. Other candidates in the reserved category may obtain relaxation in marks. Admission will be based on merit and scores of the entrance tests.

The CAT (Common Admission Test) is a national level entrance examination for MBA candidates, mainly conducted for IIMs and prestigious B-schools. The focus of CAT is on assessing skills related to quantitative aptitude, verbal ability, and logical reasoning. The OMETs (Other Management Entrance Tests), include entrance exams such as XAT, NMAT, SNAP, MAT, etc. conducted for specific colleges such as XLRI, NMIMS, Symbiosis and so on. While OMETs commonly have other sections such as general knowledge, decision making, and problem -solving or business awareness that CAT does not include, CAT is conducted only once a year, while with some OMETs you have a choice for multiple attempts or dates of conduct; therefore, it is necessary to choose your entrance exam based on the colleges you want to attend or what you are good at whether its OMETs or CAT. Both options will lead you to good MBA colleges.

Get MBA admission without CAT; 2025 is what you should be thinking of when applying to college for your MBA, irrespective of whichever college you are granted admission, as long as it is a college that reconciles the entrance tests like XAT, NMAT, SNAP, MAT, or they give out direct admissions. The biggest colleges that offer this are XLRI, SIBM Pune, NMIMS Mumbai, Amity University; just to name a few. A few colleges take into consideration your academics, work history or conduct their own entrance tests. A Bachelor's degree is required with at least 50 percentage marks. The placements could be different but many of these colleges are in good linkage with the industry. If you are looking for step admittance, I would be looking at those with open applications and personally interviewing or group discussion.
