Clinical research refers to a study conducted to assess a potential treatment and its effect on human beings. A Diploma in Clinical Research is usually a one-year course in India, while a Master's degree is usually of two years' duration. It would totally depend on the duration of your Diploma, credibility of the organisation, and purpose of applying with a Diploma. In the USA, a degree course is equivalent to a three-year course, and a master's degree is equivalent to a two-year course. Therefore, a Diploma in clinical research won't be accepted as equivalent to a master's in the USA. In Canada, a Diploma in Clinical Research is equivalent to a Master's in Clinical Research. However, it is for Canadian universities in general; for the ICMR, it may not be counted as equivalent if the duration of the course is less than two years.

Relevant pharmacy experience is required, as is completion of a pharmacy residency programme at a university. In addition, IELTS or TOEFL scores, a statement of intent, two/three letters of recommendation, and a resume are required. In addition, a few universities may require GRE results.
