Hi, if you want to become an astronaut then you must do astrophysics as it is the study of mostly space but in simple physics, you do not get the opportunity to gain more knowledge about space.

B.Tech Aeronautical Engineering prepare students in designing and building aircraft and spacecraft. Aeronautical engineers handle design, manufacturing and maintenance of aircraft, helicopters & UAV. There are lots of good career opportunities on completion of Aeronautical engineering. You can join DRDO/ ISRO/ Aviation manufacturing or its ancillary units/ Airlines/ Air Force/ Educational Institutes/ R&D Units / IT etc after Aeronautical engineering.

It solely depends on your choice. See, being an engineer, you can go in the research departments like BARC, DRDO, ISRO, etc. At the end of the day, the crux is to gain supremacy in the subject which you have joined and you should love it.
