Fisheries Science :
* After completing the course, you can find employment in the public sector organizations such as the fisheries department and the nationalized banks.
Opportunities lie in government agencies, State Departments of Agriculture and organisations such as the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI).
Recruitment to these institutions is through the State Public Service Commission.
For those having good research skills, can find employment in organisations such as the Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT) and the National Fisheries Development Board as research assistant, biochemist, biologist, technicians, etc.
In the state government sector, a fisheries graduate can apply for the post of Assistant Fisheries Development Officer (AFDO)/ Fisheries Extension Officer (FEO) and District Fisheries Development Officer.
Various opportunities in Central government agencies are in Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), Fisheries survey of India (FSI), NIO, WHO etc.
They can also be employed as a field banks officer, managers in agriculture loan section in nationalized as well as private banks.
Job prospects are also available in private sector in aquaculture farms, hatcheries and processing plants.
Commercial fish farming, seed production and export of marine products and ornamental dishes are potential areas of self employment and entrepreneurship development in fisheries.
With Masters in Fisheries, one can be appointed as assistant professor in the faculty of fisheries and with doctorate one can be recruited as scientists in various agricultural and fisheries institutions. Recruitment to these positions are by the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) through a nation-wide competitive examination followed by a personal interview.
Private research companies in India and abroad are also entering into this field with large investments.
Fisheries graduates are in great demand for fisheries professional in the aquaculture and processing sectors in gulf and African countries.

To become a commercial pilot :
* You need to first possess a Student Pilot License. You must be over 17 years of age and have completed 12th in Science (Physics and Mathematics) with 50%.
* Your vision in one eye must be perfect. In general medical terminology, it is called 6/6 eyesight. In the other eye, you could have an imperfection of 6/9, which must be correctable to 6/6.
General physical fitness is mandatory. You must be free of any disease that can hamper normal function.
* You need to register at a flying club which is recognized by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India.
* Next is Private Pilot License which includes sixty hours of flying. A Commercial Pilot Licence may be obtained only after a PPL and 250 hours of flying.
