The concept of percentile is related to the amount of examinees u have surpassed or got more marks
eg , a 90 percentile means that u have scored marks that are above 90% of the applicants that gave the same exam

CAT exams are generally conducted between NOV & FEB. the right time to start preparing for it in during the second half year of the final year of graduation. One should appear for CAT while pursuing final year of Graduation

TANCENT- The Anna University will conduct Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET, generally accepted by most of the colleges in state of Tamil Nadu.

As GATE is designed purely for engineering students, by getting good rank in it you can get PSU jobs or admission in premium technical institutes like IITs. However, CAT is designed for management although engineering students have very good record to secure top ranks in CAT. If you want to be in engineering field, then go for GATE, if you want to get into management, then go for CAT.
