1. CBSE releases the CBSE improvement exam forms at the end of July/August on their official site.
2. You can appear in all 5 subjects. Intact, if you're AJEE aspirant then you are required to take up exam in all (5) subjects.
3. You will decide the district of the exam centre.
4. Admit cards will be made available in the month of February. You can download it from the official site. Marksheet will be available on the site after the declaration of Boards result. Stay motivated throughout the year and you can score very well. Keep away from distractions for a year.

Of course, going for polytechnic is good if you want to be technically strong than those who are joining engineering after 12th. After joining Polytechnic, you will be technically sound already as compared to freshers coming from 12th. While those who are coming by doing 12th they will lack knowledge as compared to you. The 2nd important thing is you will not have to go for entrance exam while applying for Engineering. Sometimes, it's problematic to score in the entrance and get a good college. Yes, for the first two years, you have to take courses in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Earth Science. I don't think that it's a problem even if you don't have biology in class 12th, the faculty at IISER-Pune is aware of this and are more than capable of accounting for it. Don't be surprised if, at the end of two years, you end up loving biology.
