Hi,
Mechanical engineering is called the evergreen branch, but many girls are found not to prefer mechanical engineering owing to the extent of physical work involving while attending mechanical workshops and laboratories. Streams in demand include electronics and communication engineering, computer science and engineering, applied electronics/instrumentation, electrical and electronics engineering, etc. which are conventional streams. New generation streams such as nanotechnology, mechatronics and robotics have better prospects abroad.

Both B.Tech after Diploma or after class 11th and 12th have equal value. There is no difference between the two but after diploma if you try for admission through lateral entry ten you may face problem because lateral entry has very few seats available. So, best option is to go for class 11th and 12th and then pursue B.Tech.
