With 74% in 12th it would be difficult to get a call from IIM A since it gives much weight-age to academics. According to previous trends, you can still expect a call if you manage a 99.8 percentile or more.

In today's age of IT, to become a data scientist, you require skills in maths & statistics, RDBMS, programming skills and domain knowledge. In addition, you will have to learn few analytic tools. You are advised to opt for B.Tech CS/IT or BCA-MCA or B.Sc-M.Sc CS/IT followed by a PG Diploma in data analytics. Alternatively, you may also do data analytics specialization courses after MBA.

Assuming you are a PCM student, you are eligible to do B.Sc (Hons.) or B.Sc in any of the PCM subjects, B.Sc statistics, BBA, BCA, hotel management, fashion designing or fashion technology & management, LLB etc. You can change stream to commerce, economics, humanities etc. You can also appear in NDA exam conducted by UPSC twice a year to become eligible for commission office in Defence services.
