After completing your class 12th, you should definitely opt for a course related to fashion designing, choose a college that would help you to get practical exposure as fashion design is a practical oriented course. The college that I can suggest you is PCTE Group of Institutes, it is situated in Ludhiana, Punjab. As I have done my graduation from this college, I can assure you that PCTE provides a lot of practical exposure to its students. While my graduation I have witnessed fashion designing students involved a lot of activities like sketching, graphic designing where they work on professional software like coral draw, photoshop and adobe illustrator. Fashion designing is a very creative and technical course where students learn construct garments of all segments, pattern making, draping which includes surface ornamentation techniques as well. I was amazed to know all this when I visited the department. Besides this, students present their collection on their big day of annual graduating show. So, think of getting into a university/ college that would just not give you a degree but would make you use your creativity and teach you all the technical skills required to become a brilliant fashion designer at the same time that would also provide you opportunities once you finish your graduation like mine does. If you want to apply in LPU, the minimum eligibility criteria is 50% for B.Com and 60% for B.Com hons.
