Hi, just check the site http://josaa.nic.in/webinfocms/public/view.aspx?page=46 to know the opening and closing ranks of NIT's through which you can have a clear idea I think you will be getting new NIT only if you belong to OBC, SC or ST. Good luck !!

Hello Abhishek,
Most of the coaching institutes that teach IIT - JEE preparation course have an entrance test for the students, if you score good marks in those entrance tests, you can obtain scholarships in some form of discount on the course.

Hello Akshay,
Your best bet is wait & watch. If less students apply for admission then suddenly your chance may come. After normal rounds of counselling is over then private colleges are allowed to admit students.

Hi,
You can get some NITs like Goa, Manipur, Sikkim, Agartala, etc. and some IIITs but I think you may not get it in the first round of counselling.
You may refer the link below for the previous year closing and opening ranks:
http://josaa.nic.in/Result2016/result/OpeningClosingRank.aspx
This will not be the same this year but it may give you an idea of which colleges you may get.
The counselling registration starts from 15 June and the first round seat allotment is on June 28th. Refer www.josaa.nic.in.
