After having completed your Class 12th from the UP Board, you cannot apply with the CBSE board for an improvement exam. Every board allows only the those students for improvement exams who have appeared in their exams. Since you completed your Class 12th under the UP Board, you are eligible for improvement exams through the UP, not the CBSE.

For the reference, The CBSE allows candidates who have qualified in their Class 10th or 12th exams to take an improvement in one or more subjects, only in the succeeding year and only for students who originally appeared under the CBSE board. 

If you do not succeed in some subjects the first time, you can do something and be able to succeed. It will also be advisable to consult with a counselor in order to know the best strategy to follow further. The latest CBSE exam pattern 2026 for class 12 comprises competency-based questions (MCQs, case-based, source-based questions, etc.) which will carry 40% weightage. The Multiple choice questions (MCQs) will carry 20% weightage and short/answer type questions will carry 40% weightage.
