In case, you don't get your desired college, don't settle for something mediocre. Instead of settling down for some mediocre college, it would be better if you try for some good private university. Many reputed private universities are offering B.Tech chemical engineering. They have different criteria for admissions. Some offer admission on the basis of JEE scores, some offer admission on basis of their own tests and some offer admission on the basis of both. Some even offer direct admission on basis of class 12th marks. Some of the universities also offer scholarships on basis of your performance in class 12th or JEE or even during the course. You can check the details of any of the reputed universities like VIT, Lovely, SRM, etc. All these universities have wonderful infrastructure and world-class facilities to offer to students apart from good placements. Firstly, B.Sc. Chemistry is more related to pure Science where you focus mainly on the chemical properties, reactions and their outcomes. On a deeper level you can conceptualize the creation of new compounds being a chemist. While, B.Tech in Chemical Engineering is more of an applied Science where you debottleneck the process conceptualized by a chemist to fit to the real world scenario. You will work to construct and operate large scale equipment that scale up the laboratory scale concept for real life applications. You will more be into designing scaled up equipment for the laboratory process to become feasible in a way that they are safe and easy to operate.
