According to me, that depends on your interest. If you are interested in Mechanical and took admission in Information Technology, then that would be an absurd thing to do. I would suggest you to do what interest you and you are good at. But, as per placement wise go for Computer Science Sector or IT firm. Even associate software engineers are getting a good package. There is a good placement, but fewer people were placed in the campus interviews selection. The companies that are coming are L&T, Wipro, IBM. Some years back, Wipro and Infosys also came. No issuesif he has dropped for two years. There are many good private universities like Lovely, Manipal, Thapar, etc. Offering B.Tech CE. They have their different criteria for admissions. Some offer admission on basis of JEE scores, some offer admission on basis of their own tests and some offer admission on the basis of both. Some even offer direct admission on basis of marks in class 12th. Some of the universities also offer scholarships on basis of your performance in class 12th or JEE or even during the course.
