Yes KCT, Coimbatore provides lateral entry to BTech students. The duration for this course is three years. Students who have Diploma or Science graduates can directly apply to second year of BTech. However, the admission process for lateral entries are same as regular admission process.

KCT is a well-known Institute for its BTech placements. As per the previous year's record, it has been seen that college has provided better placements to the BTech students. In 2025, college has provided 84% placement with median package of INR 4.5LPA. In 2024, KCT provided 89% placement with median package of INR 5LPA. Yes, students can get direct admission at KCT, Coimbatore for BTech courses. Direct admissions are provided by management quota and student needs to be eligible for that. As per the eligibility criteria, students from other states can apply through management quotas. However, the fees can be high as comparison to government quota.

KCT, Coimbatore provides 69 seats for BTech Biotechnology students. These are divided into management quotas and government quotas. If you are a Tamil Nadu student you will get a seat through government quota, and if you are from other states, the seat will be allotted through management quota. Students need to follow the respective admission procedure to get a seat.

There are total 129 seats available at KCT, Coimbatore for BTech Information Technology. The seats are divided in management quota and government quota. Students who are from Tamil Nadu can apply for BTech in IT from government quota.

This is battle of two worlds. Both are great but cater to two different students. 150+ companies (Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Goldman Sachs) visit PSGCT campus every year and around 90-100% students are placed with an average salary of INR 5 to 14 LPA. The campus is spread over almost 40 acres. Amrita is a deemed university campus and has better research facilities and higher fees. Go for PSGCT, if you want the traditional college experience with good alumni link; go for Amrita, if you want a university feel with all amenities.
