It is a good enough college. Most departments have adequate labs and equipment. The whole college was refurbished in 2013, so everything is in good condition.
The placement scenario is better, as there are companies coming for each and every branch. If you have potential, you will get a good job in your branch.
If not on campus, then off campus too, because of the strategic location of Pune.
New opportunities are opening up every year, as the college is improving its status.

If you are from open or OBC, then chances for getting COEP is very less.

Yes, he will surely get COEP in following branches in first round:
1 production engineering
2 metallurgy engineering
3 B.Tech Planning
If he is going to wait for 2nd or 3rd round, then he will get Mechanical, Electrical, instrumentation, civil.
