IIIT as in its name is purely for technical branches. So it is better for IT.
CSE is the core branch of IT.

It ultimately depends on what course you're interested in. As I student of NIT-Trichy, I can tell you that there are good placement and higher studies opportunities for chemical engineering in NIT-Trichy. Also, IIIT-Allahabad is a reputed college too. I suggest you to not end up choosing the course you're not interested in. All the best.

For undergraduate course, JEE Mains is the only path. A rank of around 10k is needed for this, however.

You need to score around 240 if you are a general category student else you need less than 200 and it varies from branch to branch. If you have a state quota then you should score much less than that.
