The college is very good and the environment is also very nice for the students to study.The relations between the faculty and the students is very healthy. Everything about the college and hostels are so good that people have started being lazy.I guess the extra food they eat because it's super good. Not majority of students study for competition they are just preparing for passing their semester exams.

The student strength is nearly 2000 in Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology.

With adequately numbered and highly qualified Members of the Faculty, the College enjoys an impressive Student - Teacher ratio of 10:1. Teaching quality is very good. Teachers are qualified, knowledgeable, have experience in teaching.The College has an overall placement record of almost 84% for the last 5 years. During the last 5 years, our Faculty Members have published 15 books and 1660 technical papers, filed 54 patents, organized 68 Workshops and Conferences, carried out a consultancy work worth Rs. 4.75 Crores. The ongoing project funding is worth Rs. 9.31 crores. In addition, we have received a TEQIP-II grant of Rs. 15 crore

7 to 6 Lacs was the median package offered to the students during Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology placements.Mostly Indian companies have visited a campus like Global Logic India Pvt Ltd. IBM, TCS, ICICI Bank, ONGC, L&T, KOTAK Securities, ADOBE, HCL, INDIA MART, ASIAN PAINTS etc.

The cutoff ranks for BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar - Indian Institute of Technology other than the General category are - 1701 for OBC, 1090 for SC, 390 for ST, 662 for EWS, 178 for PWD. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut-offs also change a lot depending on the All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

The cut-off was 4571 for General category candidates in All India quota for BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar - Indian Institute of Technology. For female candidates in the general category under the All India quota, 6884 was the closing rank. BTech cut-off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant.

Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For the general category under All India, the opening rank was 6257 and the closing rank was 6631. Cut off are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even the domicile of the home state. In All India, the opening and closing rank for female candidates was 9619 and 10729. Admission to BTech in Electrical Engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar - Indian Institute of Technology is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying for while checking for cut-offs.
