SMIT is one of the best colleges and also have the best infrastructure, better than most of the college in Sikkim. It has a huge vicinity and an amazing sports facility. Excellent infrastructure, well-experienced faculty & one of the best learning environments in India. There are 95% placements for all those who wish to sit for it (despite there being many who quit the placement rounds at the last moment to opt for better opportunities [read: off campus]). In 2023, at SMIT Sikkim, the lowest salary given was INR 4.5 LPA for Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) students. On average, BCA graduates from SMIT Sikkim got around INR 7 LPA. The total cost for doing an MBA at SMIT Sikkim is INR 5,50,000 for two years if you're not from Sikkim. But if you're from Sikkim, it's INR 2,23,000 for two years.
The fees is like this:
- First Year: INR 2,75,000
- Second Year: INR 2,75,000
This money covers your classes, staying in the hostel, food in the mess, using the library, and other small things you might need.
You might also need to pay some extra money:
- Safety Money: INR 5,000 (Refundable)
- Signing Up Money: INR 1,000
- Exam Money: INR 1,000 each time you have exams
- Sports Money: INR 500 each semester (That's two times in a year)

Yes, SMIT Sikkim has an on-campus hostel facility for students. The hostel has separate blocks for boys and girls, each with a fixed capacity. The rooms are double bedded with attached toilet, comfortably-furnished and make for a good home away from home. Cot, ceiling fans, reading lights, mattress with cover, bed sheet, pillow & pillow covers, bucket & mug are provided free by the institute to first year students.

The complete cost is INR 4,50,000 for the whole course. This amount is split into two parts of INR 2,25,000 each. You'll need to pay the first part when you get admitted, and the second part in the second year.
For students who are from Sikkim, there's a 50% discount. So, the total fee for them is INR 2,25,000.
This fee covers various things like tuition, exams, library, labs, hostel, meals, sports, and other small expenses.
