As per the student alumni reviews on an unofficial source, given below are some of the things that would increase the chances of getting into TUM Germany:
- Excellent academics, probably in the Top 5 of your class
- Internships, job experience, or a research publication
- Good GATE / GRE score, whichever is needed
- TOEFL score of minimum 100
- Excellent ad fantastic SOP

For the initial screening of the applications, TUM may look for the following:
- The reputation of previous universities attended. The selection coordinator would usually open the website of the institutes mentioned in the CV to see what that particular university has been doing. In some case, they might look at the university’s accreditation
- To get admission to TUM, the academic records are very important
- International outlook in research and innovation is also checked. The CV gives the committee a good idea about your outlook, the fields where you have studied and the areas in which you want to specialize
