No, the University of Mannheim is not free for international students, however, the per semester cost of studies is very much affordable.
Students enrolled in full-time studies at the institute must pay a per semester tuition fee worth EUR 1,500 (INR 1.4 L) along with a semester fee of around EUR 194 (INR 18,9 K).

Humboldt University of Berlin's admission decision is based on two factors, namely citizenship/higher education qualification of the applicant, and NC (Numerus Clausus) or in other words, the number of seats available per course. Some of the basic documentation required are stated below:
- Transcript of secondary education stating the academic record
- Transcript of records/degree certificate/diploma incase one has priorly studied at another university
- English translated official documents
- Proof of Germa language proficiency- Level C1
- CV
- Copy of passport or identity card
- Certificate from the Academic Evaluation Centre (APS)

All of the degree programmes at Humboldt University of Berlin are taught in German. Thus, it is mandated by the university for the applicants to submit the proof of C1 German language proficiency. Some of the certificates accepted by Humboldt as proof of the language proficiency include Goethe-Zerifikat C1, telc C1, telc C1 Hochschule, DSH-1, TestDaF with score of 3 in all sections.
