Most Master's courses at TU Berlin are taught in German. But, there are some courses that are taught in English. A proof of German language proficiency is required for all degree programs held in the German language. A few of the German language certificates accepted by this university are DSH 2 or 3 / TestDAF. The same is applicable for the Bachelor's courses. German language proficiency score report is required for admission wherever applicable.

Degree programs at the Technical University of Munich are offered either entirely in German or in English. In some degree programs, different language skills may be needed, and students may either be provided with the option or mandated to take courses or modules both in German and English.

Even though it is not mandatory to provide proof of German language proficiency, it is still recommended to work on one's skills as students may need to take some advanced electives, labs, etc., in German for mixed-language programs. The university recommends developing one's proficiency in both English and German alongside study-life.

The TUM acceptance rate stands at around 8%, meaning that out of every 100 students who apply to the university's admission process, only 8-10 students are likely to be offered the opportunity to enroll themselves at the TUM Munich campus grounds. This suggests that the admission criteria of the university are extremely selective since only about one-tenth of the students are likely to be accepted.
Students should ork on building an all-rounder profile and increase their cocurricular participation to maximise their chances of selection.
