Yes, it is a good option. All schools across the e country need librarians. Even government jobs are available in government libraries. Medium is up to your choice.

It's always good to take up courses you're interested in, be it in NIFT or elsewhere. It gives you good exposure to knowledge and adds to your resume. Don't worry about the placements. It all depends on you and your work. More than 50% of the students apply for jobs off campus.
