Yes, IIT Guwhati offers separate hostel facilities for both boys and girls. There are eleven boys’ hostels and two girls’ hostels for accommodating students with their own individual rooms. The accommodation is single-seater. These hostels are equipped with all modern amenities. Each of these hostels has its own mess, canteen, stationary shop, juice center, pantry, indoor games facilities, gymnasium, music rooms, library, TV room, laundry room among many other facilities with uninterrupted power supply.

The cutoff trend for BTech at IIT Guwahati - Indian Institute of Technology has been increasing in the recent years. In 2022, the closing rank for BTech under general category for all India quota was 589. In 2023, it increased to 654. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 298 to 267 for OBC, 175 to 173 for SC, 77 to 83 for ST, 103 to 91 for EWS, 37 to 37 for PWD. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.
