The highest package is usually an outlier. From what I've seen, most students get offers in a much more moderate range, so it's better to focus on your skills and preparation rather than the highest package figure.

Not necessarily. With a large student population, some opportunities can be competitive, but there are also many clubs, events, hackathons, and internship drives. I think being proactive and applying early makes a bigger difference than the student count itself.
