IIT Bombay JAM cutoff 2026 has been released for admission to the MSc and MSc+ PhD courses. The cutoff was announced for different categories under the All India quota. 

For the General AI category, the overall cutoff ranged from 15  (MSc in Biotechnology) to 839 (MSc+ PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering). As per the last round closing ranks, MSc in Applied Geology (17), followed by MSc in Biotechnology (26) and MSc in Applied Statistics and Informatics (35) were the most preffered courses for admission. If you are asking whether LPU offers an average package of around ₹6 LPA for MBA, the current placement figures suggest that the opportunities are considerably higher for stronger-performing students. LPU's School of Business reports a highest package of ₹49.4 lakh and an average package of ₹13.60 lakh for the top 10% of students. LPU also reports more than 450 recruiters and 650+ dream and super-dream offers. However, the ₹13.60 LPA figure is specifically for the top 10%, so it should not be interpreted as the average salary of every MBA student. With 89 percentile in CAT, you have several MBA options beyond LPU. Your chances depend on your academic record, category, work experience and performance in interviews or other selection stages. Colleges commonly considered in the 80–90 percentile range include TAPMI Manipal, Great Lakes Institute of Management Chennai, FORE School of Management Delhi, LBSIM Delhi, BIMTECH Greater Noida, KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Mumbai and Goa Institute of Management. At 89 percentile, you should also check newer IIMs and other institutes where the effective cutoff can vary by category and profile. Some institutes may have published qualifying cutoffs around this range, but receiving a call is not guaranteed because final shortlisting considers multiple factors. You can also consider LPU if you receive a good scholarship; its MBA scholarship information specifically provides benefits for CAT/XAT percentile ranges, including 85–90 percentile. Overall, with 89 CAT percentile, I would recommend applying broadly rather than limiting yourself to one college.
