Banasthali Vidyapeeth is a deemed university for women only that traces its humble origin in the death of young daughter of Pandit Heeralal Shastri in year 1935. The institution has started from a small girl's college for arts and Science in 1999 in Jaipur has now become a full-fledged university spread across almost 100 acres of land near Jaipur. It initially had bio slant but then seeing the feedback and requirement of students community, has spread its wings across engineering, commerce, management, law etc. and of course fashion designing. The status of a university was granted in year 2009 and since then is known as 'Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phoole' University.
