Indian Institute of Information and Technology (IIIT), Dharwad was set up in 2015. It was established under Public-Private Partnership  (PPP) between the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), the Government of India, the Government of Karnataka and KEONICS. It is an 'Institute of National Importance' and aims to address the skill gap in information technology and henceforth, equip India to regain the global leadership role in IT. IIIT Dharwad is among the prestigious IIITs in India. The institute offers BTech across three specialisations. The admission is granted based on the JEE Main score. It also offers a PhD programme, admission to which is also entrance-based. IIIT Dharwad cutoff 2023 for the BTech (CSE) stood at 47555, which turned out to be the most competitive branch among the three. During IIIT Dharwad placements 2023, the highest package stood at INR 35 LPA. The placement percentage recorded was 78%.IIIT Dharwad has concluded the placements for the Class of 2023 with a 68% placement rate. As per the latest report, the the highest and average package offered during IIIT Dharwad placements in 2023 stood at INR 35 LPA and INR 11.52 LPA, respectively. Further, the median package offered during IIIT Dharwad placements 2023 stood at INR 8 LPA. The top recruiters of IIIT Dharwad in 2023 included Cognizant, Deloitte, IBM, Amazon, IBM, Infosys, Intel, Oracle,  etc.
