Direct admission against vacant seats : under this 15% seats in institute shall be filled by the management/NRI quota. Second, admission through entrance exams like JEE mains, JEECUP, CUET (NTA). UG under different programme demand different entrance exams.Students should score valid marks in JEE Main/UPSEE for IET Lucknow admission to the B.Tech courses while a GATE score is accepted for IET Lucknow M.Tech admission. For other courses, Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow admission will be done through UPCET.

The Institute of Engineering and Technology in Lucknow is a state-funded technical college that is accredited by the NBA and associated with Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University. IET, Lucknow is not a tier 1 institution. Although IET Lucknow is ranked 1st amongst colleges under A.K.T.U.26 Dec 2022.
