The cut-off marks vary according to courses and years for admission into Visvesvaraya Technological University's University B.D.T College of Engineering. The cutoff ranks for 2023 admission for KCET ranged from 10,430 in Computer Science, General category to 44,180 in Civil Engineering for SC/ST category. COMEDK UGET cutoff ranks extended from 7,411 (Computer Science, General) to 23,439 (Mechanical Engineering SC/ST). Specifically, cutoff ranks are: KCET – Mechanical 17440, Electrical 20150, Civil 22450; COMEDK – Mechanical 12319, Computer Science - SC/ST 14819. Rao Bahadur Y Mahabaleswarappa Engineering College (RYMEC) admits students for both under management quota and through the communication of seats which is around 25 percent of the total intake of 500 (125 seats). Eligible candidates can apply directly, meeting criteria: 45% in 10+2,40% of the reserved categories, physics, maths and chemistry/biology/computer Science must have been studied in 10+2. No entrance exam is required. This application fee is Five Thousand Indian Rupees (INR). The stages involved in admissions include application submission stage, the documents submission stage, the interview stage, if necessary, and the confirmation stage.  About 125 students get a direct admission every year.
