NIT Patna offers BTech programmes based on JEE Main scores. Based on merit lists and counselling rounds, students are shortlisted. As the counselling process starts, candidates whose names appear on the list of seats allotted are temporarily admitted to the relevant course. Each counselling round has a deadline for the shortlisted candidates to report and under that time period, they must have to choose, confirm, and lock their choices. The next step is of fee payment by the candidates to avail a course in a particular counselling round.

The Chanakya National Law University has a very competitive LLM course with the minimum number of seats intake. The sanctioned number of available seats for CNLU LLM varies every year, and with that, the availability according to the admission level. However, the total intake of seats for the LLM course is 60. However, the university reserves the right to revise the seat allotment. The above-mentioned seat intake is sourced from the official website/sanctioning body. This is still subject to change; hence, the same is indicative.

CNLU splits its intake mainly along with the rank obtained by the candidates in the Common Law Admission Test, CLAT. The better rank in CLAT automatically helps obtain a seat for the LLM course and finally depends upon the availability of seats and the preference exercised at the time of CLAT counselling. This is the reason why one has to score well in the CLAT entrance so that the chance of obtaining a seat at CNLU increases for the LLM course.
