The M.Tech admission dates for 2025 at IIT Patna  is out now since the GATE 2025 exam dates are out. Candidates must refer to the GATE dates for IIT Patna M.Tech 2025 admission. 

IIT Roorkee has REVISED the GATE 2025 application form dates. As per the revised schedule, GATE 2025 registrations had started on 28 August, 2024. The last date for GATE 2025 registration have been extended to October 3, 2024 (without late fees). Earlier, candidates had to submit the application form by 26 September 2024, with regular fees. BTech and BS courses completely based on JoSAA following an appearance by a candidate for JEE Main and JEE Advanced examination, however for other courses MSc and M.Tech based on GATE, IIT JAM through COAP and CCMN counselling and the seats under PhD course on appearance basis on admission test organized by institute itself. After the test is conducted, IIT Patna publishes a merit list containing the names of students selected for PhD.

No, there is no provision of a student studying free at IIT Patna as per the official website. However, IIT Patna provides a range of Merit-Cum-Means scholarships to meritorious and needy students. Any UG (BTech) student or MSc student can receive these scholarships. The criteria to receive is that the annual income of a student's parents/ guardian/ family from all sources in the preceding financial year must not be more than INR 4.50 lakh. Category-wise eligibility criteria and the way in which the scholarship is offered is as follows:

No, direct admission to the programmes offered at IIT Patna is not possible. For admission to the BTech programmes the aspirng candidates need to have JEE Main along with JEE Advance. For admission to the M.Tech programmes the aspirng candidates need to have GATE exam scores.
