Yes, 30 could be considered a good enough rank for admission to the BDes course at IIT Hyderabad.
For the General AI category, the highest rank acceptable was 42. So, the attained rank of 30 might get you admitted at IIT Hyderabad.
It also worth knowing if you belong to any reservered category, its not complusory that the admitted ranks would be higher, for eg., for SC AI, the highest acceptable rank was 18.

This is one of the most debated questions among engineering aspirants. IIIT Hyderabad is globally known for its research output and CSE programme specifically, and many consider it the best CS college in India after IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi. IIT Hyderabad, on the other hand, offers a broader engineering environment with strong research facilities across departments. For pure CSE and coding, IIIT Hyderabad has a slight edge. But if you want a well-rounded IIT tag with diverse opportunities, IIT Hyderabad is the better pick.

IIT Hyderabad cutoff 2026 was released for admission to the BTech courses for the first round. The cutoff was out in the form of opening and closing ranks for various All India categories.
For the General AI category, the round 1 cutoff varied from 647 to 8541, wherein BTech CSE was the most competitive course for admission. Students can see the table below to know the course-wise cutoff for this quota.

To get a seat at IIT Hyderabad for the BDes course, students have to first attempt the UCEED entrance exam and then appear for the counselling process. Only those who have appeared in the counselling process are considered eligible for the UG-level course.
The IIT Hyderabad cutoff 2026 has been published till Round 3 for various All India categories. For the General category, the same round the highest accepted cutoff was 42. To know the cutoff required for other categories, click here.

According to a student's review on Shiksha, IIT Hyderabad is a good college.
Some companies that visit the college are Samsung Research, Adobe Research, and Intel. Wipro and Suzuki provide many internship opportunities. Many consulting companies also come to the college.
The library is very good and very accessible. All classrooms are well-equipped with projectors and screens for easy and good learning.
