There is no donation fee here. Let me explain you the system. The system is very simple, for a particular branch there are few seats (Eg. 250 seats) in first category. First category could be understood as the seats given to the merit holders of VITEEE. The fees here is minimum and actually very cheap. Generally, VITEEE rank holders up to 20K can only contest for these seats. Then there is category 2 which again comprises of 230 seats and in this category, the fee is little high (you may say it includes donations in the fee). So, your fee for category two will be more for every branch and generally students over 20K rank contest test f

Vellore Institute of Technology Masters Entrance Examination VITMEE is conducted by University for admission to M.Tech, M.Sc and MCA programs offered at Eight Constituent Schools of the University. Applicants can fill the VITMEE Admission form from March 10, 2018 till May 24, 2018. The application form can be obtained from online mode, i.e. by visiting the official website of the VIT University while the offline application forms can be availed from select post offices across several states.

Yes, you can apply for B.Tech course in VIT.
VIT conducted their own entrance exam for B.Tech course.
Those candidates who have completed diploma course from a recognized university are eligible for B.Tech course in VIT.
Your age should be above 17 years.

VIT is one of the best university if you are planning to go outside India. There are a lot of opportunities at VIT, but at the same time, we have that much competition. The college and hostel rules are strict. The Vellore campus is beautiful, you definitely will love the campus.
If you talk about placements both the college's are equally good. In VIT, you will definitely get a job offer, irrespective of the performance. If you are a bright student, you get a good job offer here as you will get in SVNIT.
Talking about mess and hostel conditions both SVNIT and VIT gives you good facility. You do get north Indian food and South Indian food

It is not that bad. If you have money and interest in the field you can take it. You will definitely gain knowledge and exposure to the culture and the latest technology. If you are just looking for the degree it is not advisable to take the course in VIT. According to the placement, VIT is not good for B.Des courses.
