VIT-Chennai is also doubtful as 1-100000 ranks are called for counselling, you may get any campus in the phase 2 counselling but with a higher fee structure.

VIT University is a better option in comparison to your other choice if you are getting a similar branch in both colleges. You may opt for an institution where you get subject/ branch of your choice.

Vellore campus is very expensive.
Every one want admission in Vellore campus.
Vellore is first choice of students.
But, in second campus you didn't get luxury facility like Vellore .
So, students are not interested in second campus.
But, in education level both are good.

The better one is VIT-Vellore because it is widely preferred by the students for B.Tech and CSE. SRM is also good but if you get VIT go for it.

It's up to your and skills, of course, you can get good salary packages after doing M.Tech & B.Tech dual degree courses. I would suggest you to choose CSE branch.

VIT is a slot based system, so according to your rank, they divide you into the respective slots. There are 4 slots, each different in the fees. So, the rank of 1 to 20000 come in the first slot with scholarships, so probably you will get any branch in VIT, but it all comes down to the fees which You are going to pay each year.
