Hi, there are only 7 distance BA colleges in West Bengal of which 2 colleges are owned privately and 1 college is owned by the government. Admission to majority of these colleges are done on merit basis. These colleges offer various specialisations in distance mode like English, Urdu, Criminology, Public Administration, Economics, History, Languages, Political Science, Sociology, etc. NSOU, St. Peter's College, Directorate of Distance Education, University of North Bengal, Vaishno Devi Institute of Studies and Vidyasaathi are the top distance BA colleges in West Bengal.

To pursue BA (Honours) in English through Vidyasagar University, you need to have completed 10+2 from a recognised board with at least 50% aggregate and 60% in English (or 55% in English with pass marks overall). SC/ST candidates may qualify with 40% aggregate and 40% in English. Admission is based purely on merit of your higher secondary score, with no entrance test required.

The cutoff for Shri Shikshayatan College in 2025 is based on the merit of the applicants' 12th-grade board exam scores. While the exact merit list for 2025 hasn't been released yet, the college will publish it on their official website. For an idea, in previous years, popular courses like B.Com (Hons) and BBA often had very high cutoffs, sometimes above ninety-five percent. It's important to keep an eye on the college's website for the official announcements.
