The Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is mandatory for the following:
Students who have qualified Higher Secondary examination.
Candidates who posses Bachelors Degree in any discipline.
Candidates who holds a Masters Degree in any discipline.
Candidates who posses any professional qualification.
So, as you can see, the Common Proficiency Test is mandatory for every individual willing to pursue Chartered Accountancy course and will remain so unless the proposal is approved by the union government. As per the proposal, Commerce graduates with 55% marks in the qualifying examination and Non-Commerce graduates with 60% marks or more shall be exempt

Hi,
In my point of view you can do other certified courses taxation, corporate accounting, diploma in cost accounting, diploma in investments, but you have to depth knowledge of these courses and after these type of course you can got a good job.

No, CPT exam is only for those students who opted for or completed their class 12th with commerce stream.

Accounts:
This is the most scoring subject in CPT , no doubt. It is very much required that you must solve all the mcq sets given in the module. Please don't leave the company accounts part. A lot of students get irritated and leave it for option. It is a crucial part. In CA-IPCC a lot of concepts are on shares and just company's fund management. Once, you are done with the entire syllabus of accounts , move on to solving past year papers as much as you can (I am not referring to the model test papers module in anyway, it's straight up of no use).
