Yes, candidates are allowed to pursue a Diploma in Pharmacy course after completing their BSc degree. However, it's important to note that the transition from a Science-related field like BSc to pharmacy may involve a significant shift in subjects and career focus. Candidates might need to fulfill certain prerequisites or additional requirements to enroll in a DPharm programme since the subjects studied in BSc and pharmacy are quite different.

The minimum score needed in Class 12 to be admitted to IEC University's DPharm programme is 45%. To be eligible for DPharm programmes, candidates are usually required to have received at least 45% in their Class 12 exams, especially in the relevant Science subjects. However, the number of applicants and the number of seats available in the course will determine the merit list that the university releases. So, to improve the chances to get selected in the course, candidates are suggested to score good in their higher senior secondary.

Following a DPharm from IEC University, candidates have the option to enrol through lateral entry and pursue a BPharm. For this, the candidates have to appear in top entrance examinations such as OJEE, UPSEE etc. They can also work for well-known pharmaceutical firms that handle the development, preparation, testing, and research of different types of medicines.  DPharm professionals can also choose to pursue higher education and enter the field of academics. In recent times, a government job is more preferable than a private job. After completing a two-year Diploma in DPharm course candidates have various options that they can pursue, such as Govt. hospital Pharmacist, Drug Inspector, Drug squad in police, Regulatory Affairs Officer, etc. To get these job roles candidates are required to qualify for government exams, such as UPSC, SPSC, SSC, etc.

IEC University Solan reserves seats for the students, who belong to SC/ ST/ SEBC candidates. Additionally, the university also provides reservations for students from weaker sections of society. The percentage of seats reserved for DPharm students is not explicitly mentioned on the official website of the university. However, candidates can take the reference of reserved seats as per the government of India and the state government of Himachal Pradesh.
