The NIFT 2025 Situation Test will evaluate the candidate on the following parameters: Concept development, which evaluates how one has answered the main subject of the question while remaining creative at its core. Whether the candidate is able to beautifully and intelligently convert the concept into a design/ product? How real-life is the 3D model? How much innovation is required to create the model. To prepare for the NIFT 2025 Situation Test, the candidate needs to practice material handling. The candidate must be using different types of material like clay, aluminum foil, aluminum sheet, sun pack, foam, straw pipe, mouldable aluminium wire, etc. Practice cutting and attaching the material to make different types of models. When making a model, use a timer, because this way you will lean time-management and you brain will also start processing information accordingly. If you are getting stuck in your preparation, don't hesitate to take the help of peer, mentor, or your teacher.

The Creative Ability Test or CAT will evaluate the intuitive ability, power of observation in concept development, and design ability of the candidate. To prepare for CAT the candidate must develop their observation skills, learn the basics of geometrical shapes, understand conceptualization, learn product drawing and shading. The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) may or may not conduct mock tests. So, the candidate can take mock tests conducted by elswhere. Typically, the more mock tests a candidate takes, you can prepare better. That being said, mock tests are usually taken closer to the exam. For instance, by taking mock tests, you learn management skills, along with improving problem-solving skills. Note that the candidate must solve sample papers and previous years NIFT question papers, along with taking mock tests, to effectively prepare for the exam.

Along with doing through the textbooks and solving problem Sets the candidate must also solve previous years question papers to prepare for NIFT 2025. One of the main benefits of solving sample papers is the candidate will get to know the difficulty level, types of questions asked, and marking scheme. The NIFT exam is among the competitive and is also considered among the toughest. So, it is recommended that the candidate starts their exam preparation early. NIFT exam has various components like written exam and Situation Test /Personal Interview. Candidates seeking admission to the B. Des and M.Des courses need to prepare for both the CAT and GAT. The CAT is a drawing-based exam. Now unless the candidate is already well-versed, the exam will be very difficult. So, start early. The same goes for the GAT.

Here are tips for NIFT exam preparation. 

  1. Check NIFT exam pattern and syllabus. 
  2. Check the topics and plan accordingly
  3. Ensure you follow only the updated syllabus.
  4. Stay updated with trends, fashion shows, exhibitions, etc.
  5. Make a timetable taking into account the difficulty level of each topic.
  6. Solve sample papers and previous years' question papers.
  7. Take mock tests.

Yes, 125 is a good score to secure a seat in IIITDM Jabalpur for admissio to the B.Des course. The institute accepts UCCED scores for admission to the B.Des course. As per the IIITDM Jabalpur B.Des cutoff 2024, the round 2 cutoff closing rank was 156 for the General AII India category students. 

Candidates can refer to the table below to check out the category-wise round 1 and round 2 closing ranks for IIITDM Jabalpur.

The candidate will be allowed to apply for re-check of their results soon after the results are declared. The recheck window will be available on the NID admission portal - admissions.nid.edu.

Recheck window for the B.Des program will be open from May 16-17, wheres re-check window for M.Des will be open from May 6-7.

To apply for recheck, you need to log into the portal using your candidate credentials, pay the relevant fees and complete any othe formalities. 

The results of the DAT Mains exam for the B.Des exam will be declared on May 16, 2025. Meanwhile, DAT Mains results for M.Des will be announced on May 6, 2025.

Yes, with a cutoff of 36, you can get into IIT Hyderabad for B.Des admission in Round 2 of the UCEED Seat Allotment process. The Round 2 closing rank for B.Des was 36 for OBC category students, so a cutoff of 36 should be sufficient for admission.
