BArch and BDes are both great options and are different mostly in terms of their overall focus. While BArch is all about architecture- designing buildings, planning spaces, and working on construction projects, a BDes course will focus on the more creative side of design. It covers a wide range of design fields, such as graphic, product, fashion, etc. Choosing a course will depend on your interest, aptitude, and aspiration.

Of course. In fact, you should surely display your work in top fashion shows and exhibitions if given an opportunity as it gives you valuable exposure and visibility within the fashion industry network, helps in strong portfolio building, and boosts your confidence tremendously.

Many top Fashion Design colleges themselves organize fashion events for students to display their work or you can also look up on the web for fashion runway events for emerging fashion designers. Fashion Design courses are all about practical exposure, so make sure to make the most of it.

A Fashion Designing portfolio is of utmost importance for both admission and future job scope because it is nothing but a compilation of your skill set, unique style, and creative potential that can give you an individual identity in the world of fashion. A portfolio acts as tangible proof of your skills and value-add, highlighting your projects so far, skill based certifications and tool proficiency, based on which top design institutes offer you admission and recruiters look at you as an asset.

Since most of Fashion Designing courses after 12th have foundational courses to teach you everything about art and design from scratch, it is not a mandatory prerequisite but you often have to submit a solid design portfolio or appear for a creative aptitude test for admission to top Fashion Design institutes. So it is better to have some experience in art and designing along with a creative vision and artistic flair to succeed in this field marked by innovation and experimentation.

For the rest you can check specific course requirements at your preferred colleges to have better clarity.

Fashion Design courses are available at the certificate, diploma, UG, PG, and PhD levels in India. The short-term certificate or Fashion Design Diploma courses can be as short as 3 months and can even stretch up to 2 years, based on the course focus and the institute offering the program. For UG courses like BDes/BSc/B.F.Tech/BA in Fashion Design you need to spend at least 3 to 4 years and for PG courses like MDes/MSc/M.F.Tech in Fashion Design, you need to invest at least 2 years. For research and innovation enthusiasts, a PhD in Fashion Design of 3 to 5 years can be a go-to option.

Civil Engineering is both about fieldwork and design/desk jobs, depending on the specific career profile and the career stage that you're at. Some Civil Engineering jobs like Civil Design Engineer are more about office work, where you are involved in CAD software designs and blueprints for construction projects. On the other hand, job roles like Site Engineer or Construction Engineer are field-focused where you need to spend a major chunk of the time on construction sites overseeing progress and quality of work done for the project.

Well, yes. You need to pay an application fee for Product Design admission, which needs to be submitted along with the duly filled application form to confirm your form submission status. The application fee is somewhere between INR 1,500 and INR 3,000, which differs on the basis of the college and the course level.

You can check the official college websites for a detailed overview of the Product Design fee structure that includes everything from the college application fee to all the miscellaneous charges.

Hope this helps!!!
