The design industry is expanding very quickly. Candidates who complete the BDes course can pursue a variety of job roles. More emphasis is placed on project-based learning and applying theory through projects and design construction in BDes courses. A good college to start with is crucial if a student is considering taking a BDes course to launch their future.They can also enhance their education and go for further specialisations. After completing the BDes course, candidates can pursue an MDes, MFM, or MBA degree. For highly skilled designers, there are many lucrative opportunities today, whether they work in the fields of apparel, textiles, graphics, glass, leather, interiors, jewellery, ceramics, furniture, automobiles, animation, or exhibits.

Symbiosis Institute of Design offers several merit-based and need-based scholarships to students, as per the policy of Symbiosis International Deemed University. The institute provides Merit Scholarship for students from North-East Region, International Scholarships-PG & UG, SCOPE Scholarship for Girl Students from Adopted Villages, 15% fee concession for Nagpur domicile category, SIU Sports Scholarship, etc. Candidates can also avail the scholarships under Central Scholarship Scheme, NHFDC Scholarships for Students with Disabilities, and other national and state government schemes. SID conducts Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) for shortlisting aspirants for BDes course. SEED is an online proctored test conducted for a duration of 60 minutes comprising 60 questions. The questions could be MCQ, match the columns, fill in the blanks, image-based and comprehension based. The paper will contain a mix of questions related to visual sensitivity and judgement, observational, perceptual and reasoning abilities, problem solving, basic knowledge of logic of Science and Mathematics, art, craft and culture, design and environment. Candidates who qualify SEED will be called for further rounds of selection. The final selection is based on Portfolio Review, PRPI Task and Personal Interaction as well as on the basis of the information provided by the candidate in the application form and the chosen specialisation.

Candidates who have passed Class 12 or equivalent or Class 10 along with three-year Diploma with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST) can apply for the BDes course. Additionally, candidates appearing for the final year exam can also apply for any of the BDes specialisation. SID Pune offers BDes in four major disciplines, namely Communication Design (Graphic Design, User Experience Design, Animation, Film Design, Video Film Design), Industrial Design (Product Design, Interior Space Design), Fashion Design and Fashion Communication. After filling the application form, aspirants are required to appear for Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) followed by Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction.
