Hello Harigovindu,
I am afraid, but engineering is not possible via distance learning. SC has ruled that any subject that needs extensive practicals cannot be offered by distance learning way. Hence the option you have is to join an engineering college via lateral mode. DTE of your state's website will give you the complete details.
Best wishes.

Yes, it's recognised by UGC but if you are looking for SMU then I would suggest some other options which are good as compared to SMU.
You can consider following options:
1. Amity University
2. Suresh Gyan Vihar University
3. Annamalai University
4. ICFAI

No. There is no B.Tech distance course that is legal. As per Supreme Court Order, Technical education by correspondence or distance mode is invalid. Hence no question about it being valuable or not. Don't fall for false promises of private institutions.

B.Tech course is usually of 4 years but since you have done your Diploma you might have chances to get directly into 2nd year. For Diploma holders B.Tech is of 3 years.

Hello Asif,
Failing is no crime. But, you must get up and start working hard in right earnest. So that you score very well in next exam and get qualified for admission in mechanical engineering. Of course, you will have to clear CET of your state with good marks also.
Best wishes.

Hello Rezaullah, I am afraid, there is no legal way that you can obtain degree of engineering via distance education mode. However what is legally possible is that you obtain certification of AMIE. This is treated as equivalent to degree in engineering for all practical purposes.

Hello Mukesh, The SC of India has declared engineering via distance education as illegal and hence I would strongly advise you that do not even think of doing engineering in this fashion.
