Yes, you can get distance B.Tech course, if you are a Diploma holder. Otherwise, you can't. And, seats are limited and are only based on merit.

All B.Tech correspondence/distance programs are invalid for employment purpose. All the regular B.Tech programs including lateral entry are valid. However, please be check that college must be approved by AICTE.

As far as I know, there is no upper limit for the distance program. However, I would still recommend you to confirm with the concerned authorities once.
