The minimum eligibility requirement for distance MBAs are:
- Bachelor's Degree from a recognised university.
- Diploma holders need to possess three-year work experience to pursue the program
- B-schools select students based on entrance exams that test the analytical, verbal and numerical abilities of students.
This is ideal for professionals who do not want to quit their regular job and still want to add on to their qualifications. Freshers who are starting off in the industry can also benefit from this. With technological advancement, distance learning can be your first choice of study. Depending on the candidates profile, the kind of opportunities will almost be similar as regular MBA.

There are various colleges offering an MBA degree or PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration). The admission procedure of these institutes also differ. There are various subjects for specialisation like marketing, finance, human resources, rural management, retail management, operations and logistics, systems, intellectual property, international trade and business. You can choose from any of this according to your interest.MBA in India is normally offered in the following four modes like a) Full time, b) Part- time, c) Distance Learning and d) Executive.
The minimum requirements for almost all institutes are:-
A Bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories).
Courses in various modes are offered by premier institutions like the IIMs, management schools of IITs, S.P. Jain Mumbai, MDI, Gurgaon, NITIE Bombay, XLRI Jamshedpur, XIM Bhubaneswar, BIM Trichy, LIBA Chennai, XIME Bangalore, Goa Institute of Management, FMS Delhi and by various Universities. It is important to shortlist the intended schools and you must plan out in advance about which exams would you like to take up seriously. Admission notification from the top B-Schools starts from the second week of March, related information is always available in the respective websites. The main entrance examinations are CAT, CET, JMET, MAT, XAT and ATMA. Admission is usually offered based on the cumulative scores of written test, GD / PIs, and work experience in a few cases.
