DTU and IIT Delhi are one of the best engineering Universities/colleges available in India. The BTech college placements given to these college students are also best. DTU has been ranked at the 30th position under the engineering category & 62nd under the Overall category by NIRF 2025. Whereas IIT Delhi has been ranked at the 2nd position by the NIRF for 2025 under the Engineering category. In the end, it depends on students what's best for them.

DTU is a government university which was established in the year 1941. The university is accredited by NAAC with an 'A' grade and NBA. The university has been ranked 214 by the QS Asian University Rankings - Southern Asia & also at the 700th position by the QS Ranking under the Asian University Rankings.

Delhi Technological University DTU has received 30th position under the engineering category & 62nd under the Overall category by NIRF 2025. Colleges like IIT Ropar stands below this university. Hence, DTU is better than many new IITs but still stands below the top IITs such as IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, and IIT Kanpur.

The DTU scholarships are comprised of three types of scholarships called Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC students and Scholarship for Minority Communities students. The merit based scholarship is offered to students with high scores in the last qualifying exams while the others are offered to students who can prove that they are recognised their respective categories.

Yes, you qualify for DTU if you received a 60% in your 12th grade.
However, admission is primarily determined by your JEE Main rank rather than your grades.
You have to attend JAC Delhi counseling after JEE.
Therefore, you can get DTU CSE/IT if your JEE score is high.
If your rank is low, you might have to look at other colleges or get a different branch.

DTU is a popular university. The university is popular for its BTech course. The BTech students are placed in top companies. Hence, the ROI of the university is quite good. This is the reason the fee is not felt high. Even if the students feel that they want discount, visit the admission office and ask for scholarships offered by the university.

No, candidates cannot secure admissions into the BTech courses of DTU through direct admissions. Candidates who wish to gain admissions into the BTech course at DTU are required to appear for the JEE Mains entrance examination. The JEE Mains entrance exam is conducted twice in a year with the first seesion lasting from November of previous year till January of current year. The second session lasts from the month of February till April.

DTU admission 2026 to several programmes is based on entrance exam scores and merit. DTU which is well known for its BTech programme provides admission for BTech based on JAC Delhi, JEE Main results, and others. The JAC Delhi manages the entire counselling process. All other courses at DTU need admission through university/national-level entrance exams, including UCEED, GATE, CAT, MAT, and others.
