The highest possible score in the Duolingo English Test is 160. The scoring scale range is between 10 and 160, increasing in 5 point increments. DET is a computer adaptive English proficiency test. It is often used by foreign universities and institutions to assess the English skills of non native speakers.
This score indicates a very high level of English proficiency, comparable to a C2 level on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The sample test is shorter only 15 minutes in comparison to the real DET test which is of 45 minutes. Candidates can get an estimated score from the sample test as from the sample test the result is derived from very few questions.

Candidates' scores are seen in terms of the other two tests, TOEFL and IELTS. Duolingo scores are linked with the TOEFL scores to find the comparable scores from the test that have similar percentile ranks. This also offers results related to evidence of the validity of the Duolingo test scores.

Yes, the University of Delaware accepts the Duolingo English Test as part of its admissions process for international students. Duolingo scores are an alternative to TOEFL or IELTS, and the minimum score typically varies by program, but it is generally around 100 or higher for competitive programs. Always confirm the exact requirements for your programme of interest directly through official university resources.
