There are mulitple changes announced and introduced for Duolingo English Test. Some of them are mentioned below:

1. Duolingo introduced sub scores section to provide additional Individual Subscores (Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening) alongside integrated subscores (Literacy, Comprehension, Conversation, and Production).
2. Duolingo is going to use AI for DET test to provide a fast, high-quality, and secure language assessment to anyone.

The difficulty level of DET for any student depends on the fluency and knowledge of English language. The adaptive format of Duolingo English Test increases or decreases the difficulty level of exam based on your answer for previous question. Having knowledge of test format, time management skills and good vocabulary can help you to get good score in English proficiency test. 

According to DET test pattern, the duration is 1 hour which is divided in three different sections like mentioned below:

• Introduction - 5 minutes (You'll be introduced to the test interface and instructions.)
• Adaptive test - 45 minutes (The main section of test)
• Writing and speaking sample - 10 minutes (You'll get different prompts to write and read)

There is no any specific syllabus for Duolingo English Exam. It is an adaptive test. DET assesses your listening, writing, speaking and reading skills. How much time will it take to prepare for exam depends on your current English proficiency level. To prepare from beginning you need at least 2 months.

You can not attempt DET on your mobile phone or a tablet. Test requires a desktop or laptop computer with a functioning camera and microphone hardware. This is a strict hardware requirement.

Yes, you need a valid passport. You must show your passport to the camera before starting the Duolingo English Test. This confirms your identity. IT is a strict security rule.
