Hi , Admission for the B.Tech and BS program is done through JEE Advanced followed by JoSSA counselling. Candidates must have a minimum aggregate of 75% during HSC level to be eligible for admission. After the successful completion of Counselling process, candidates will have to report at IIT K for document submission, fee payment and confirmation of seat procedures.

You have not written about the College/ University name from where you wants to pursue the B.Sc. Economics course. The eligibility criteria may varies according to Universities. The eligibility criteria of Hindu Kanya College Kapurthala is 10+2 with minimum 40% of marks with Math. Hence Math is needed at 10+2 level for B.Sc. Economics.

I think you should go with B.Sc. Statistics, because B.Sc. Data Science students have big competition with B.Tech CSE students and most of the companies prefers to select the B.Tech CSE students in place of B.Sc. Students.
