Since both the colleges are similarly great, I truly lean towards you ought to go for mechanical or any center branch in IIT (ISM) as after it got moved up to an IIT the school arrangements has expanded even from previously and countless are going to the grounds for grounds enlistment. So, its better that you pick a superior branch where possible, in fact, there's extremely very little contrast between these two.

Hello Dear, As you are pursuing Diploma in electrical engineering, then you should continue your interest in B.Tech. Otherwise, your spent time will be waste as well as for any other stream you have to start from level zero. So, its better to save your energy, time and money by continuing the same. Best of luck.

NITs are all good. The average package of any branch except Computer Engineering and IT is almost the same i.e. around 5-6 Lacs. See, if you are going for core companies, you should not expect a package more than 8-9 Lacs. Regarding the highest package this year, as per what I have heard, it was 10 Lacs by Vedanta. You can get a decent package if you apply for consultancy firms.
Good luck.
