B.tech is not the qualifying exam for M.Sc Nutrition. Qualification: Pass with a Bachelor's degree in Home Science or Nutrition or Dietetics or Food Science or Biology or Microbiology or Clinical Biochemistry or Life Sciences or BNYS (Naturopathy) or BAMS (Ayurveda) or PG Diploma in Dietetics from a recognized University, with minimum 50 % aggregate marks or equivalent.

Even they sound close enough, contents of these two courses are quite different. Medical electronics deals with development of instruments used in medical fields while biomedical can be termed as development of prosthetics etc. Of course this is in most elementary form. this is the eligibility criteria for this college and course!
1 .Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed 10+2 examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology /Biology/ Technical Vocational subject.
2 .Secured minimum 50 % marks (minimum 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the subjects Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject added together.

Frankly speaking, opinion would be equally divided between experts as to which branch is better. But, from another perspective, each branch has it's own importance and usefulness in the industry and hence placements are available in both branches.
