No, both the steams are totally different but in the 1st year of any stream, you will study the basics of all the branches.

Yes, MTech in power electronics is definitely an option to be pursued for obtaining post graduation in engineering. There is a vast potential for the students having professional degrees in this area. Hi,
Distance learning programs are good while you are in jobs because of time constrains. But, if you are fresher or unemployed than in my opinion you have to go with the regular BSC-CS course, because there are so many of doubts and issues, which cannot be solved through the distance learning mode. Most important the required pace and motivation are another factors which cannot be attained by using the distance learning mode. Further you are also eligible for B.Tech lateral entry scheme of various engineering colleges, so you have to look this aspect also. Good Luck.

Hi,
If you are working professional, then distance learning may be the good option because of time constrains, but if you are fresher or unemployed, than in my opinion you should go with regular study. Because, there are so many issues and doubts, which cannot be clear through the distance mode and most important the required pace and motivation cannot be attained through the distance mode. Further, you are also eligible for regular B.Tech lateral entry scheme, there are many colleges offers admission in 2nd year to diploma holders. So, you may look this aspect also. Good Luck.

Yes, you are eligible for B.Sc in computer science after Diploma in electronics & telecommunication. You might not be eligible for lateral entry in B.SC but you can surely join from 1st year.
